In port at Roatan painting from a rope seat

NCL dancing waiters

Beach hopping in Roatan on one day cruise aboard Captain George's Snorkel boat which we caught at the ship landing dock

Dock sitting in Cozumel. The dock is very close to all the Cozumel downtown. Walking distance to shops, eating places. Get off the main drag and walk 2-4 block off the main street and you will find the real Cozumel. Little shops, places to eat and all the places the locals shop.

Mexico's Isla Cozumel (or Cozumel Island) derives its name from the Mayans who believed the island to be a sacred shrine. In Maya, Cuzamil translates to "land of the swallows," a reflection of the indigenous birds that grace the landscape.
Spanish explorer Juan de Grijalva made a peaceful stop on the island in 1518.
The visit was followed a year later by the infamous Hernán Cortés. The conqueror proceeded to destroy many of the Mayan temples. By the time Cortés left Cozumel, the ancient civilization lie in ruins.

Cancun downtown from the NCL Dock

.

Stopping for an afternoon cool drink after a day of shopping

The Norwegian Sea at dock in Cozumel. The ship at the time of our trip was needing a redo in places. The room we had was a bit small by other ships standards. Food was outstanding as was the service

Another stop with Capt George at this little pier and white sand beach

Cancun from the NCL ship water taxi lets you off at a nice little beach and you can go by bus to Cancun city center for shopping and lunch

Cozumel from the landing dock which is about 2 blocks from the city walk way. Cozumel is a great walking little town and better place to shop for jewelry than Cancun.
